About This Organization

Constance Free Church has historical roots dating back over 100 years. Its rich heritage of quality Bible teaching, strong family, and a heartfelt desire to impact the community continues to this day. It’s a multi-generational congregation that attracts people of all ages, from young families to empty nesters. While they have adopted a two-venue worship service format (traditions and modern), the majority of its 1,500 adults attend the modern service which is based in the main auditorium of the church.

Constance’s vision is to help people connect with Jesus, particularly the de-churched and unchurched. They’re constantly moving toward greater, intentional missional engagement and evangelistic impact. For the past seven years, they have been working closely with the Billy Graham Center for Evangelism at Wheaton College to lead culture change in this area, not only at Constance, but throughout their denomination.

Constance is known as a gracious and stable presence in Anoka County. In addition to a reputation for loving evangelism and Bible teaching, Constance is known for its partnerships with numerous neighborhoods, local schools and over a dozen non-profit organizations in the surrounding area. Many consider Constance a local community church that “feels small” but has big church programs and opportunities.

Constance’s congregation and staff are highly aligned and encouraged in the current vision and direction of corporate worship at Constance. The church is excited to see new leadership in this area share that vision while catalyzing new strategies, ideas, and momentum in the Worship Arts Ministry.

Position Description

Constance has a desire to see its congregation gather regularly in evangelistic and participatory worship. That’s the vision of the Worship Ministry. The church and team are accustomed to a proactive, energetic, and articulate communicator on and off platform. They’re excited to see a new leader step into a healthy worship arts ministry, with a high-capacity staff and volunteer team, and an aligned congregation. They believe this will create an incredible opportunity with the freedom to identify growth areas and set fresh goals for ministry success.

This position will oversee four other positions: Worship Arts Associate (FT), Traditions Service Director (PT), Admin Assistant (PT), and Production Associate (FT).

Constance has two weekend worship service venues. Both venues experience the same in-person preaching from their teaching team. The Auditorium service is characterized by modern church music in a 1,100-seat auditorium. New songs and old hymns are embraced together with a high value of scripture, corporate prayer, and pastoral leadership and care from stage.

The Traditions service is characterized by a large song catalog that seamlessly blends classic gospel choruses with modern hymnody and contemporary music alike. While incorporating a rhythm section with acoustic and bass guitar and a drum kit, the energy is driven by a grand piano and a large (7-10+) vocal team with auxiliary instruments like flute, synth, and violin.

Constance is looking for someone who will relate to their multiple generations. Someone who can articulate the heart behind the why. They want the pastoral side, the shepherd side. Not just music. A person who pastors from the stage and speaks authentically from the heart.
