Woodman Valley Chapel

Campus Pastor

Colorado Springs,

Colorado

Why I Love This Opportunity

Ernest Smith

Associate

I am so excited for the next campus pastor at Woodmen Valley Chapel. Not only are they opening a new building at this campus that is already running 1000 in attendance, but it is one of the healthiest church staff I have seen. I believe this is a great opportunity for someone to pastor well, lead forward and carry out the vision of a great church that is making a huge impact in Colorado and beyond.

About This Organization

Woodmen Valley Chapel was founded in 1979 by a local real estate developer with a heart for evangelism and church planting. He had a 40+ acre tract of land at I-25 and Woodmen Rd that was undeveloped and began a Bible study in a construction trailer on the site. In a short time, the group outgrew the trailer and moved into a small existing building on the property. Over time they outgrew the small structure and built a “stone chapel” on the grounds. This was a challenging time for the new church, and often the church utility bills, as well as other payables, would be placed on a bulletin board in the back of the chapel, and the small church community would take them and pay them for the church. This buy-in of the congregation has been a foundational value of the church over the years.

In 1994 the current Worship Center was built. The church continued to grow with the Lord’s blessing and an emphasis on evangelism, discipleship, and the foundation of God’s Word. In 2005 the East campus (Woodmen Heights) was launched, and in 2015 the North Campus (Monument) was launched. Then in 2018, the South campus (Southwest) and the Ark Valley (correctional facility) campus were launched inside prison walls. Today, Woodmen is a multi-site church with 10,000 people who call Woodmen their home. There have been 5 Lead Pastor’s in the 43 yrs of the church’s existence, and most of the living former Lead Pastor’s, who still reside in Colorado Springs, attend the church.

The church is focused on loving one another, the community each campus is planted in, and the world at large. There is a strong emphasis on the teaching of God’s Word and personal responsibility to love well and change lives through Christ.
