Key Responsibilities
- Provide spiritually grounded leadership, ensuring Wellspring’s gospel mission shapes client care, staff culture, donor relations, and strategic direction.
- Serve as the public voice and advocate for Wellspring Life, representing the mission with clarity, conviction, and grace.
- Strengthen donor engagement and church partnerships, cultivating major gifts and household giving to expand the financial base.
- Empower and develop directors and staff, fostering a culture of feedback, collaboration, and shared ownership.
- Oversee operations, including finances, HR, marketing, and compliance, ensuring excellence and sustainability.
- Collaborate with directors to design, evaluate, and continually improve programs, ensuring they remain innovative, effective, and responsive to the evolving needs of clients and the community.
- Partner with the Board of Directors on strategic planning and governance, promoting effective collaboration and clarity of direction.
- Digital marketing outreach.
This role is based out of the Annapolis office with regular in-person work at other locations; some statewide/DC travel and conferences.
Key Qualifications
- Mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ; deep alignment with the sanctity of life.
- Proven senior leadership experience in nonprofit, ministry, or healthcare settings.
- Skilled communicator with ability to influence across diverse audiences (clients, churches, legislators, media).
- Demonstrated success in fundraising and donor cultivation, including churches and households.
- Relationally wise, emotionally intelligent, and collaborative.
- Demonstrates resilience and balance by leaning on a healthy personal support system of family, friends, and mentors, recognizing the weight of this demanding mission.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 7–10+ years of leadership experience.
Challenges You’ll Face
- Leading in a politically progressive environment with regulatory and cultural challenges for pro-life organizations.
- Recruiting and retaining qualified medical staff, especially pro-life doctors and sonographers.
- Building relationships and rapport with board/staff after transitioning from long-term previous CEO.
