This position is remote, but candidates need to be based in the Pacific Northwest due to the requirement of traveling 25-35% within the region. As a member of the Leadership Team, the VP of Communities will spearhead the growth and management of Youth Dynamics’ Communities branch. This role is pivotal in the Community Ministry’s efforts to reach unchurched youth in schools, specific geographic areas, youth-serving institutions, and churches. The goal is for staff and volunteers to actively engage young people from all socio-economic backgrounds, forging meaningful relationships where they can share the Gospel, offering support, guidance, and opportunities for growth.
*This position will be required to raise 55-65% of the salary through personal fundraising efforts*
Key Responsibilities:
- Ministry Development and Management (Approximately 55% of time): Lead and improve all facets of YD Communities. Implement effective outcome tracking, conduct staff training, and spearhead the creation of new communities in line with the strategic plan. Supervise regional directors and support them in forming strong committees and volunteer teams, building prayer groups, and fostering partnerships with churches and organizations. Collaborate with the Adventures team to integrate youth into programs, ensure compliance with Risk Management policies, and cultivate a positive team culture within Youth Dynamics
- Spiritual Development (Approximately 15% of time): Cultivate personal spiritual growth and lead team and individual spiritual development. Seek and maintain relationships and spiritual disciplines in the context of active participation in a church community
- Leadership Development (Approximately 15% of time): Provide mentorship and development opportunities for Regional Directors to improve their leadership effectiveness, conduct annual performance evaluations, attend regional meetings for support and training, represent YD Communities to the Board, and actively participate in the Leadership Team.
- Resource Development (Approximately 15% of time): Responsibilities include communicating with donors, building key community relationships, managing a balanced budget, and assisting in fundraising for special projects and initiatives—a combination of personal support-raising and organizational support funds this position. Youth Dynamics will provide a fundraising coach and best-in-class training to maintain financial vitality and great donor care.
