Family Research Council is a nonprofit research and educational organization dedicated to articulating and advancing a family-centered philosophy of public life. In addition to providing policy research and analysis for the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of the federal government, FRC seeks to inform the news media, the academic community, business leaders, and the general public about family issues that affect the nation from a biblical worldview.

Position Description

The Vice President Development & Marketing is responsible to lead FRC’s fundraising plan, strategy and execution alongside FRC’s marketing efforts to help to grow our national influence and partner base. This role oversees a dedicated professional fundraising team who focus on all giving levels in a multi-channel fundraising environment. This role also develops and builds an effective marketing program across channels to effectively share FRC’s vision, mission an programs. Strong administrative skills are essential in this role and attention to detail, grounded in relational strengths, while working in a collaborative work environment with other departments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • With 60% of the role dedicated to Development, a large part of this role will include creating and executing an annual fundraising plan to regularly achieve and exceed budget goals.
  • Utilizes various fundraising strategies and areas including, direct mail, phone, text, social media, digital, major donors, mid-level, lapsed donors, prospects, foundations, events, and planned giving.
  • With 40% of the role dedicated to Marketing, there will be expectations to develop a dynamic marketing plan that communicates FRC’s story, engages and increases partner base, and connects results to donor dollars.
  • Leverages expertise in email marketing, paid advertising, website conversion and retargeting to optimize current marketing channels.
  • Leads and organizes team and roles towards maximum fundraising impact in a multi-tasking fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborates with multiple stakeholders, including numerous department heads, executive leadership, donors, and external partners.
  • Executes data-driven strategic plans – both marketing and development – through to completion with measurable results.

  • Spiritual Growth: First and foremost, the ideal leader needs to live out and pursue their own spiritual growth.
  • Strategic Leadership: With FRC intending to grow their budget 2x over the next 5 years, this leader needs to be able to develop strategic plans in light of the entire organization.
  • Administrative Drive: This proactive leader must have a strong ability to prioritize, craft and executive on plans with a high level of detail.
  • Relational Wisdom: This leader must have the ability to build trust quickly and utilize a strong intuition.
  • Marketing Expertise: The leader must have expertise in digital marketing and must know how to effectively integrate all marketing efforts into development efforts.
