Vineyard Church Kansas City has a love for its city built into its DNA! From the people who are fully engaged in the church to those who are far from Christ and wouldn’t consider stepping through the doors – all are valued. Their Vision is to be “THAT CHURCH” with “THOSE PEOPLE” and a Mission “to make MORE and BETTER Disciples.” They are stretching deep and wide, knowing that God has called them to make an impact on Kansas City.
Planted in 1990 during the early days of the Vineyard movement, Vineyard Church Kansas City has a rich history of seeing God’s provision and favor in and through the ministry. Even through ‘rough seas,’ He has remained faithful to use this church to reach people who are far from Him, growing as large as 3000 on an average Sunday across four campuses.
After a season of difficult leadership transition and the pandemic, the church hired the new lead pastors (Greg and Michelle Hartmann). The church was averaging 1100 on weekends. However, in the last two years, the church has rebounded and grown significantly to over 2100 on the weekends. God is doing a new thing in and through this church and team. You can feel that fresh energy and momentum!
Today, the church is growing and thriving. New families are engaging, and the kids’ ministry is multiplying – SO much! In the future, there are plans to revisit the multi-site expansion, trusting that God will lead them into new communities that are hungry for a church like Vineyard. Last year, they launched a new campus in Lansing Prison and sent out another church plant.
There is incredible excitement and momentum right now. It’s a fantastic time to join this talented and passionate team as they continue on that journey of God’s faithfulness and favor.
The Worship Pastor is vital to creating a meaningful worship experience for all services and events at VCKC. This pastor is primarily responsible for overseeing the Worship Team and working closely with the Lead Pastor, the production team, and the creative teams. A strong team of committed volunteers and contracted “artists in residence” serve in this important ministry. The new Worship Pastor will be able to appreciate and develop that team and develop more leaders to live out their gifts to lead people in worship.
