I love this opportunity at Thunder Mountain Church because of the unique area TMC is positioned to reach. This is a Gospel-centered church with a passion for its people to be disciples who make disciples who make disciples. The ripple effect of what God is doing in Southeast Arizona continues to grow.
Thunder Mountain Church has been about the mission of helping people find joy in living out their God-given purpose since a small group gathered together in 1989 to plant a church to be “ever-growing and ever-reaching this generation for Christ.” On Easter 1990, this dream began to become a reality when Thunder Mountain officially launched.
The dream to reach the current generation continues even today, as the average age of regular attendees is just twenty-nine years of age. TMC is a place of compassion for people without Jesus. “Many of us remember what it was like to be lost,” says Founding and Lead Pastor Randy Youngblood, “How could we not show this same compassion to others?”
The church is targeting the unchurched, disenfranchised, and those who have given up on the church. You need not get your life in order before engaging at TMC. They are welcoming during weekend services, and they are welcoming in service opportunities (they call “First Serve” experiences) for those not yet believing. The church is non-denominational.
The church has continued on a steady growth path since Covid and averages 550-600, spread across three Sunday gatherings, 8:00, 9:30, and 11 am.
TMC has been described as a unique place with an uncompromising commitment to the Bible as the word of God and a culture of unconditional love.
The Worship Arts Director will lead the Creative Arts team into an exciting new season. This ministry includes worship and production and will have the Creative Arts Coach as a direct report.
The next level will require a team builder. The church needs a leader who can enter into the current context, cast vision, and build a ministry both on stage and behind the scenes.
