Thompson Station Church

Kids Director

Thompson's Station,
Tennessee
Thompson Station Church is hiring a Kids Director to lead its K–5th grade ministry during one of the most exciting seasons in the church’s history. With weekend attendance now exceeding 3,000 and continued growth creating a pathway toward a multisite future, Kids Ministry represents one of TSC’s greatest opportunities for continued growth and impact. The next Kids Director will inherit an established ministry with clear vision, strong organizational support, meaningful resources, and tremendous potential. This is an opportunity for a proven Kids Ministry leader who loves building teams, developing leaders, partnering with families, and creating ministry environments where kids can know and follow Jesus. The next leader won’t be asked to build alone. They will join a church committed to developing a strong, layered volunteer leadership structure and creating systems that can grow and scale alongside the church.

Why We Love This Opportunity

There is real momentum at Thompson Station Church.

Over the past several years, TSC has grown from approximately 1,800 to more than 3,000 in average weekend attendance. As the church has grown, leadership has become increasingly intentional about building the teams, systems, and infrastructure necessary for the next season.

Kids Ministry is a significant part of that future.

What makes this opportunity especially compelling is that TSC isn’t simply looking for someone to maintain a successful ministry or fill an open position. Leadership wants to invest in a strong Kids Ministry leader who can develop people, strengthen systems, and build a ministry capable of growing with the church.

For the right leader, there is both a strong foundation to build on and plenty of room to make a meaningful impact.

A great match for this position would be:

  • A proven Kids Ministry leader with at least five years of ministry leadership experience, with 10+ years preferred, who has demonstrated the ability to build and grow a ministry, not simply lead from the stage.
  • A developer of leaders who naturally builds ministry through others and can strengthen a layered volunteer structure of coaches, captains, and servant leaders.
  • A relational and confident communicator who enjoys partnering with highly engaged families and volunteer leaders and can lead with both warmth and clarity.
  • A Leader, Relator, Organizer, and Teacher—someone who builds trust quickly, brings people together, creates organizational clarity, and communicates effectively with both adults and kids.
  • A strong executor who can take an established vision and strategy, strengthen it, and translate it into excellent day-to-day ministry.
  • A systems-minded builder who can help create a Kids Ministry model that is healthy, reproducible, and prepared to scale as TSC moves toward a multisite future.

Why This Role Matters:

The next Kids Director is stepping into more than a ministry position.

They are stepping into a growing church at a pivotal moment.

The foundation is established. The resources are available. The church is growing. Families are engaged. Leadership is committed to Kids Ministry, and the future will require a ministry capable of reaching more kids, developing more leaders, and eventually multiplying across campuses.

For a leader who loves building people, strengthening ministry, and preparing an organization for what’s next, Thompson Station Church offers a significant opportunity to make a lasting impact.

About This Organization

Thompson Station Church is a growing, NextGen-focused congregation located in Williamson County, Tennessee, just south of Nashville.

The church currently averages more than 3,000 people in weekend attendance, up from approximately 1,800 just a few years ago. The current Senior Pastor has served on the TSC staff for eight years and has led as Senior Pastor for the past three, following the previous pastor’s 35-year tenure. That transition has provided meaningful continuity while also bringing fresh vision and momentum for the future.

TSC has a robust ministry calendar that includes Sunday and Wednesday programming, a large annual VBS, Kids Camp and other events. With an annual budget of approximately $7.2 million and plans to pursue multisite in the future, the church is intentionally strengthening the leadership, systems, and ministry infrastructure necessary to support continued growth.

The Kids Director will have an important voice in helping build a Kids Ministry that is prepared for that future.

Location

Thompson’s Station is located in Williamson County, one of Middle Tennessee’s most desirable and fastest-growing areas. The community offers a family-oriented suburban environment while providing convenient access to Franklin and the greater Nashville area.

For a Kids Ministry leader who enjoys building relationships with parents and becoming part of the broader community, Thompson’s Station offers an exceptional place to live, raise a family, and do ministry.
