Position Description

This role has a huge opportunity to shape The River’s spiritual maturity and direction. From overseeing the systematic spiritual development of our congregation through the 101-401 classes to training and directing our online hosts to have about 20% of the pulpit time – the person who joins us as our Teaching Associate Pastor will be influencing almost every adult at The River.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shares the commitment to the Intentional Churches® model of ministry and strategizes messages and ministry in alignment with its purposes.
  • Collaborates with the Lead Pastor to develop and execute a strong master plan for teaching/sermon series that are practical and relevant.
  • Develops and leads a team of hosts for the online services who can shepherd and connect that “campus” of The River Church family.
  • Works closely with the creative planning team and others to ensure a quality experience.
  • Coaches, develops, and empowers other men and women with teaching gifts, helping them find ways to express their gifts for the edification of the church family.
  • Champions and coordinates the 101- 401 classes and teachers for systematic development and teaching of core theology, values, and practices.
  • Connects and collaborates with ministry leaders across the organization (staff and lay leaders), spending time building relationships and trust with key influencers and high-capacity leaders.
