Mission, Vision, and Values
- The mission of The Hills Church is to WIN people to Christ, TRAIN believers to become disciples, and SEND disciples to impact the world.
- Their vision is to help people discover their purpose, grow with confidence, and live without regret.
- They value authenticity, community, and growth.
Staff Culture
The staff views themselves as “maverick coaches” who will do anything short of sin to win people to Jesus. They value “consistent cookies,” meaning they want leaders to get one percent better every week rather than attempting to hit a home run every Sunday. Thick skin is required in their high feedback environment. The church does not believe in “death by meetings,” offering pastors the autonomy to run their own departments independently. They rest as hard as they work. The church provides generous flex time after major outreach pushes and gives the entire staff the week after Christmas off.
Key Responsibilities
- The Kids Pastor will oversee the infant through fifth grade ministry spaces, ensuring they are vibrant, clean, and welcoming.
- They will recruit and train a volunteer army from scratch. Since ninety percent of the church just found Jesus, these volunteers are brand new to faith and ministry.
- This pastor will support churchwide initiatives like Vacation Bible School, Candypalooza, and daily community center parties.
- Administratively, they will utilize Planning Center Online, Mailchimp, and Clearstream to track milestones and communicate consistently with parents.
Key Qualifications

- They must have the capacity to manage a growing ministry in replicable chunks, running the children’s department as if overseeing an independent 1,000 person church.
- A pastoral presence is required to care for children, families, and volunteers through spiritual guidance and relational connection.
- The candidate must be aligned with a Bapticostal theological framework.
