Vision
- To see every person join God in transforming our city and the world through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The staff culture at The Chapel is best described as relational, collaborative, and steadily evolving in health. It reflects both the church’s long history and the lessons learned from past leadership challenges.
At its core, the team operates with a shared leadership model. The Lead Pastor carries vision, but there is a strong emphasis on collaboration across the team rather than top-down control. Key leaders function in complementary roles—vision, operations, and execution—creating a dynamic where ideas are discussed and refined together rather than dictated.
There is a noticeable shift toward humility and emotional intelligence in leadership. After experiencing more authoritative and high-pressure leadership in the past, the current culture values being approachable, low ego, and team-oriented. People want to work with leaders who listen well, invite input, and build trust over time.
The staff is also relatively young and energized, with many team members in their 20s and 30s, especially in ministry-facing roles. This brings creativity and momentum, but it’s balanced by intentional respect for the church’s legacy and older members. There’s an awareness that moving too fast or without sensitivity could fracture trust, so leaders aim to pace change wisely.
Operationally, the culture holds a healthy tension between structure and flexibility. Systems, planning, and organization are important—especially given the size and complexity of the facility and ministry—but there is also a growing desire to be more responsive, creative, and Spirit-sensitive, particularly in worship and weekend environments.
Relationally, the team genuinely enjoys working together. There’s a sense of shared ownership and camaraderie, rather than siloed departments. At the same time, clarity of roles is still being refined as the church continues to define its identity in this new season post multi-site.
Overall, this is a staff culture that is:
- Healthy and improving, not perfect but self-aware
- Team-first and low ego
- Thoughtful about change, not reactive
- Committed to long-term fruit over short-term wins
For a new hire, success will come from embracing that spirit—building trust, collaborating well, and leading with both conviction and patience.
