This Pastor or Director will serve as the primary leader of Student Ministry, providing both pastoral leadership and strategic direction for students ages 12 to 18. This role is not only programmatic but deeply relational and shepherding in nature, helping students grow in faith, identity, and discipleship. This is a full-time position.
This position serves as part of the Family Ministry Team, working alongside Chapel Kids and under the direction of the Family Director, while also contributing meaningfully to the broader pastoral staff culture and leadership of the church.
The Chapel is committed to developing this staff member beyond student ministry. This role is designed as a pastoral pathway, with intentional opportunities for preaching, leadership development, and active participation as a contributing member of the church’s teaching team, helping shape and communicate the vision and direction of the church.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide pastoral leadership and shepherding care for students, leaders, and families, cultivating a ministry marked by spiritual depth, relational connection, and gospel-centered discipleship.
• Oversee the vision, direction, and integration of student ministries, including leadership of middle and high school environments, biblical formation, and relational ministry strategies.
• Serve as a strategic contributor to the teaching team, participating in planning rhythms, collaborating on content, and helping ensure alignment across ministries.
• Regularly teach and communicate God’s Word in student environments and, as appropriate, in broader church settings, delivering messages that are clear, engaging, and transformative.
• Recruit, equip, and develop volunteer leaders, while partnering with parents to foster spiritual growth and encourage student engagement in service and mission.
• Lead and manage ministry operations, including budgeting, trips and retreats, communication, and safety systems, with strong organizational leadership.
• Invest in personal spiritual health and continue growing as a pastor, leader, and communicator, actively pursuing development opportunities and feedback.

What a Strong Candidate Would Look Like:

• Cultivate a growing relationship with God through frequent time in the Word and prayer.
• Have a love for students and a strong desire to see them grow in their walk with Christ.
• Possess good communication and teaching skills.
• Be able to recruit and equip volunteers and ministry teams in a multi-generational setting.
• Demonstrate solid biblical understanding and agreement with The Chapel’s doctrinal statement and key positions.
• Provide leadership and direction for a large ministry through effective teamwork.
• Have a minimum of two years’ experience working with students.
• Hold an undergraduate degree from a recognized college or university (graduate degree preferred).
• Have training (or willingness to receive training) in pastoral care and youth mentoring.
