Leadership
- The Young Adults Pastor will report directly to Abram Haley, who leads with authenticity, humility, and a deep passion for building teams. Abram is known for his collaborative spirit and commitment to empowering leaders to thrive. The Senior Pastor, Mark Hartman, has guided Sugar Creek through significant growth with a clear vision and a strong commitment to the church’s mission of life change in Christ.
Key Responsibilities
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree required; seminary degree preferred. 3-5 years of experience in young adult, college, or similar ministry contexts, demonstrating the ability to connect with and lead this unique age group.
- Biblical & Theological Depth: Solid foundation in Scripture and Christian theology, with the ability to apply biblical truth to the challenges young adults face in today’s culture.
- Relational Skills: A warm, approachable leader who builds trust and authentic relationships with young adults, parents, volunteers, and staff.
- Creative Communication: Able to teach, preach, and communicate effectively in large and small group settings, using creative and relevant methods that resonate with young adults.
- Team Leadership: Proven ability to recruit, develop, and lead volunteer teams, fostering a collaborative environment where leaders are equipped and empowered to serve.
