Sugar Creek Baptist Church is almost 50 years old and has experienced remarkable growth under the leadership of Pastor Mark Hartman, expanding from 1,600 to 5,100 in average attendance over the past 20 years. With a mission “to love and lead all people to life change in Christ,” Sugar Creek has become known throughout the community for its missions work, care for the region, and commitment to meeting practical needs. The church operates three physical campuses (Sugar Land, Missouri City, and Richmond/Rosenberg) plus a vibrant online campus and a fourth campus in a local prison.
Located in Fort Bend County—the most ethnically diverse county in America—Sugar Creek reflects this diversity with over 90 different nationalities represented in its congregation. The church’s core values guide everything they do: Truth Matters, Total Dependence on God, High Expectation, Eternal Impact, Mutual Respect, and Generational Relevance. Their strategy is simple but intentional: Worship, Connect, Serve, Share.
Corporate worship is a high priority at Sugar Creek, with a worship ministry known for excellence, authenticity, and strong platform leadership. The church utilizes modern music and creative arts to identify with people culturally without compromising the gospel message. The Richmond/Rosenberg Campus, opened in September 2020, averages 450 adults and 200 kids and offers both English and Spanish services. This campus has tremendous potential, great volunteer teams, and new leadership that is passionate about reaching the Richmond/Rosenberg community for Christ. Sugar Creek operates under a “high trust, low fear” leadership philosophy where staff are empowered to work within their God-given skill sets, making this an ideal environment for a worship leader who values collaboration, team ministry, and consensus-building.
The Richmond/Rosenberg Campus Worship Pastor will oversee all aspects of musical worship and weekend gatherings at this growing campus. This leader will work closely with both the Campus Pastor and Global Worship Pastor to cultivate a vibrant worship culture that reflects Sugar Creek’s commitment to authenticity, excellence, and diversity. Beyond Sunday mornings, this role involves developing worship leaders, shepherding volunteers, and creating worship experiences that impact children, students, and adults across multiple generations. This is an opportunity to partner with a talented, young staff team and a gifted global worship leadership network while building something meaningful in one of America’s most ethnically diverse communities.
