Mission:

Four Key Areas of Spiritual Development:
- Worship – gathering to respond to God through inspiring music and relevant teaching/preaching of God’s Word
- Connect – smaller groups coming together in biblical community for spiritual transformation and mutual care
- Serve – servant teams responding to ministry needs within the Body through grace-based giving of time, abilities, and resources
- Share – declaring and demonstrating the story of redemption everywhere with those who may be far from God
Staff Culture

- The Missouri City campus team is united, very connected, and loves being together—much like a family
- Staff members do things together all the time, enjoy hanging out and collaborating in one another’s offices, and generally have a lot of fun
- Led by the philosophy of “high trust, low fear”—Senior Pastor Mark Hartman does not lead as a dictator or micro-manager but builds consensus and encourages vision

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead all worship services assigned by the Campus Pastor and Global Worship Pastor
- Oversee all things related to musical worship and weekend gatherings on the Missouri City campus, including leadership of band and vocal teams and technical production (audio, video, and lighting)
- Recruit top-quality artists from the congregation and community
- Coordinate and lead weekly band, front-line, and worship choir rehearsals in preparation for Sunday services and special ministry events
- Shepherd, disciple, and provide leadership development for people in the Missouri City Worship Ministry
- Provide leadership and oversight to multi-generational worship opportunities within the Missouri City Campus
- Research and listen for new worship songs to be incorporated into worship services
- Collaborate with Sugar Creek’s worship leaders to write new worship songs
- Oversee stage and platform design for Missouri City Campus and research creative elements (lighting/video/graphic elements) to enhance worship
- Create worship services with an appropriate degree of integration between artistic elements and spoken message
- Establish a ministry structure that provides appropriate opportunities for participation from church members in planning and performing worship experiences
- Create and facilitate events and activities within the overall strategy of the church designed to reach the unchurched for Christ
- Develop, evaluate, and manage all budgetary line items pertaining to the Missouri City Worship Ministry under the direction and guidance of the Global Worship Pastor
- Assist the Global Worship Pastor in coordinating and implementing the vision for Sugar Creek Worship at the Missouri City Campus
Key Qualifications
Spiritual and Personal:
- Maintain a life of personal spiritual development and accountability
- Refrain from any social or private behavior considered or interpreted as unbecoming a Christian and devoted follower of Christ
- Develop leadership, musical, and ministry skills through attending conferences and workshops
- Support Sugar Creek Baptist Church with giving the tithe and offering
Relationship Requirements:
- Practice a philosophy of following pastoral leadership
- Loyal to the church, Lead Pastor, Global Worship Pastor, and Campus Pastor
- Be a team player that demonstrates a desire and ability to help make other staff successful
- Relate well to others on a professional and personal level
Musical and Leadership Abilities:
- Strong vocalist and platform leader who cares about musical excellence
- Ability to fill in instrumentally as needed in the absence of rhythm players
- See yourself as a pastor and worshiper, not just an artist
- Have a vision for worship ministry that goes beyond the Sunday morning platform and impacts children, students, and adults
- Be highly relational, lead passionately, and have the heart to shepherd and develop others
- Be relationally connected to the Missouri City campus and seek to know the people well
- Appreciate what a small worship choir brings to the collective worship gathering
Additional Expectations:
- Attend weekly planning meetings led by Campus Pastor and worship service production meetings
- Attend Sugar Creek’s Global Worship Staff Meetings as requested by Global Worship Pastor
- Participate in Global Worship Staff Retreats and planning days
- Participate in conferences and workshops throughout the year
- Contribute in attitude and actions as a team player with the entire ministry staff
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality
- Be a peacemaker and seek to work out all conflicts within the church
