Staff Culture

Key Responsibilities
As a Worship Leader:
- Plan all worship services assigned by the Worship Pastor.
- Lead all worship services assigned by the Worship Pastor.
- Fill in instrumentally as needed in absence of rhythm players.
- Research and listen for new worship songs to be incorporated into worship services.
- Participate in planning of worship services as requested by the Worship Pastor.
- Give creative input into all worship services and events to enhance the worship experience at Sugar Creek.
As an Associate:
- Maintain ministry budget responsibly.
- Assist the Worship Pastor in administration of special programs and productions.
- Calendar all events pertaining to your area of ministry.
- Assist Worship Pastor and Worship Staff in community outreach programs and events.
- Assist Instrumental Director in all stage set up, strike, and design needs.
- Set up laptop and video/lyrics for Sunday and Wednesday choir rehearsals.
- Provide vocal coaching to all soloists and praise team members.
- Direct praise teams as assigned by the Worship Pastor.
- Assist ministry assistants with set up for rehearsals and special events.
- Administrate and provide leadership to praise team ministry.
- Assist Worship Pastor in praise team auditions and placement.
- Develop and administer training programs for participants in praise team ministry.
- Assist Worship Pastor in ministering to Worship Ministry Family through prayer notes, tracking special needs, and shepherding the praise teams.
- Provide leadership to the Worship Ministry Outreach Program, coordinating and working alongside lay leadership to help the Worship Ministry have impact outside the walls of Sugar Creek.
- Listen through all choral preview packages and make notes recommending new worship and choir songs for Worship Pastor.
- Oversee lay leadership in filing and updating of choral library and all vocal chart purchases for services.
- Oversee updating of Choral and Praise Team Ministry web page and related ministry events.
- Schedule and coordinate production of all vocal part rehearsal tracks, as well as vocal tracks/stems for use in worship services.
- Serve as staff liaison to Fellowship Ministry Team, assisting the team in planning and coordinating Worship Ministry Fellowships throughout the year.

- Supports Sugar Creek Baptist Church in the giving of tithes and offerings.
- Takes advantage of appropriate opportunities to spiritually train and lead constituency.
- Refrains from any social or private behavior considered or interpreted as unbecoming a Christian and devoted follower of Christ.
- A person who exemplifies the utmost integrity and demonstrates character that is “above reproach.”
- Makes spouse and family a priority by striking an appropriate balance between ministry requirements and a Biblical family focus.

- Practices a philosophy of following pastoral leadership.

Skills and Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong vocalist with ability to lead in traditional and modern worship.
- Ability to direct choir and other vocal ensembles.
- Great leadership and relational skills.
- Knowledge of administrative procedures.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and able to interface with the public.
- Strong computer skills including Internet and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Team player mentality.
- Time flexibility for ministry demands.
