Church of The Commons is a healthy, growing church in beautiful Oviedo, FL. They are looking to hire a Student Pastor to lead TCStudents, which includes the 5th-6th and 7th-12th grade ministries. They will lead the TCStudents Admin (part-time) and the volunteer teams within the student ministry.

Church of The Commons is in Oviedo, Florida, northeast of Orlando. The church averages 550-600 in attendance with 50-75 students in the student ministry.

The Commons is led by the Founding and Lead Pastor, Clint Harrison. The church is all about helping people find Jesus for the first time and follow Him for a lifetime.

At The Commons, they help people find Jesus for the first time through gospel-centered preaching, first steps weekends, and local and global mission projects. They help people follow Jesus for a lifetime through small group discipleship, Bible and theology classes, serving opportunities, and more.

Position Description

The Student Pastor will be the primary leader of the TCstudents team. He will carry the vision of TCstudents and Church of The Commons to the staff, volunteers, parents, and students; and be responsible for developing a fun and engaging environment for students to find and follow Christ.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • TC56 (5th & 6th grade programming)
  • The Wave (7th-12th grade programming)
  • Team development, including the staff and volunteers of TCStudents
  • Plan and cast vision for student events that are fun, engaging, and in line with the church’s mission
  • Develop and maintain regular parent connection and communication
  • Develop and maintain a presence at local middle and high school(s)
  • Attend all required staff meetings and annual retreats

 

What a Strong Candidate Would Look Like:

  • Bachelor’s degree is ideal, but not required
  • Two years of experience working with students (ministry experience preferred) or solid internship experience at a large church
  • Active walk with Christ and consistently exhibiting Christ-like character
  • Excellent communication, preaching, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to cast vision
  • Ability to innovate and adapt to change
