Staff Culture

Key Responsibilities
Shepherd:
- Pastor first, musician second—disciple those involved in worship ministry
- Provide care for those involved in worship ministry and model a life well-lived
- Lead Christ-honoring worship that is fully engaged musically and congregationally
Lead:
- Plan and coordinate ministry that complements the vision of the church in worship ministry
- Recruit, schedule, and coach worship leadership teams (praise team, choir, orchestra, band)
- Lead the congregation to worship by providing seamless transitions and worship cues
- Create and distribute an order of worship each week for those involved in services
- Lead creative integration of media arts in worship and recommend new worship songs
Steward:
- Prepare and manage the Worship Ministry budget
- Coordinate and maintain a record of worship music
- Coordinate worship support teams (ushers, baptism, response, greeters)
- Maintain clear communication with worship, tech, ministerial, and administrative teams
General Ministry:
- Work with Senior Pastor and Preaching Team in planning and preparing worship
- Supervise the Orchestra Director and serve on the ministerial leadership team
- Perform weddings and funerals as needed and provide short-term counseling
Key Qualifications
- Character: A mature, growing Christian who has experienced a vocational call to full-time worship ministry in the local church
- Chemistry: A team player who connects, communicates, and handles conflict well with relational warmth, strength, and gentleness
- Competency: A qualified, experienced leader with the gifts and skills needed to perform as an expert in worship ministry
- Coach-ability: A person with a growth mindset and teachable spirit, willing to grow in character, chemistry, and competency
- Musical Excellence: Strong background in leading choir, orchestra, and band experience with formal music education preferred
- Pastoral Heart: Proven track record as a strong leader with preaching experience as a plus and theological training preferred
- Alignment: Commitment to Southern Baptist convictions and traditional theology positions
