Founded in 1979 as a church for people who didn’t go to church, Riverbend has grown into a diverse Austin community rooted in grace, second chances, and new beginnings. Today, the church seeks to be “a welcoming community, in service to others, compelled by God’s grace,” extending its ministry through worship, community partnerships, spiritual formation, and care for the city.
Riverbend seeks a Worship Pastor who can honor the church’s legacy of musical excellence while shaping polished, creative, genre-diverse, and genuinely participatory worship. The role calls for an accomplished, humble musician and confident stage leader who can build strong relationships with Austin’s working musicians, develop staff and volunteers, and manage a complex worship ministry. The pastor must also thrive in Riverbend’s “radically orthodox, radically grace-filled” culture, making space for people across theological differences.
