I love the incredible ministry opportunities that Prestonwood Baptist Church provides across the city and across the globe. To be part of this amazing team would allow the right candidate to not only grow in their worship gifting but to make a huge impact in the lives of hundreds of students while getting to be part of some of the largest productions in the country.
Prestonwood Baptist Church began on Feb. 6, 1977, and moved to its new home at Arapaho and Hillcrest roads in North Dallas in 1979. In 1989, the church experienced its most defining moment when Dr. Jack Graham accepted the call as pastor. With a burgeoning congregation and landlocked location, Senior Pastor Graham and church leaders prayed about the next step for Prestonwood. God led the church to 140 acres in Plano, and in May 1999, Prestonwood held its first service at 6801 W. Park Blvd. God’s hand has continued to be on this church as members have witnessed changed lives, strengthened families, and a greater reach in the community, nation, and the world with the love of Christ.
In March 2006, after months of prayer with church leaders, Senior Pastor Graham shared with the congregation a vision for expansion that included plans for a second location. After meeting in home groups and then in the Prosper High School gym in October 2008, our church family celebrated the dedication of the new facility on 127 acres on Prosper Trail, just east of the Dallas North Tollway. In the fall of 2012, an expansion project that doubled the existing space was completed to keep up with the growing congregation. Now, more than 5,500 people call our North Campus home.
In 2009, Prestonwood launched a weekly Worship Service to reach Spanish-speaking communities. Prestonwood en Español continues experiencing tremendous growth, with a thriving service at the Plano Campus. And on Easter Sunday of 2017, the Lewisville Campus was officially launched for Prestonwood en Español. With two weekly services, the new campus is reaching an area with a large Hispanic community.
And Prestonwood continues to thrive today with more than 49,000 members at three campuses.
The vision God has always had for Prestonwood reaches much deeper than the local community, however. Throughout the year, Prestonwood members are ministering in San Antonio, Boston, and New Orleans; and they’re in the Amazon, Romania, and Africa. And through PowerPoint Ministries, countless people throughout the world can hear the life-transforming truth of God’s Word via television, radio, and the Internet.
Prestonwood is launching a search for a Student Worship Associate who has the same heart and passion for reaching others with the life-changing message of Jesus.
The Student Worship Associate works alongside the Director of Next Gen Choirs/Creative Production to lead over 500 students that make up the Prestonwood Student Choir. This role will have the opportunity to work at both campuses and to work alongside the entire worship staff in the production of all of their worship services. The right candidate will have an opportunity to take part in the adult worship services in addition to leading the student choir. Ideal candidates should have a worship background, be a vocalist, love working with students, and should have the ability to teach within a choir setting. Bonuses include having a theater background or playing an instrument.
