Challenges and Opportunity
- A Platform for Big Impact: You’re stepping into a role with wide influence—not just over students, but over the leaders who lead them. This role has a real seat at the table and a chance to shape ministry across an entire state.
- Strength to Build On: This isn’t a fix-it role. The teams and systems are already strong. The opportunity lies in taking what’s good and multiplying it across every campus—adding focus, vision, and sustainability.
- Disciple-Making DNA: Pinelake doesn’t just want students in seats. They want fully devoted followers of Jesus. You’ll help create pathways that take students deeper—from Sunday gatherings to groups to missional living.
- Unity Across Diversity: Each campus has its own culture, context, and team. The right leader will know how to listen well, build trust, and unify people around a common mission—without stifling creativity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the One Church Student Ministry, providing vision, coaching, and development to student pastors across five campuses.
- Build and execute a strategy that supports disciple-making across 5th–12th grade.
- Develop the structure, systems, and culture for strong, healthy student ministry teams.
- Own the calendar, budget, and leadership of key student events like United Nights, United Weekend, and United Camp.
- Ensure consistency and alignment with Pinelake’s mission, values, and “Our House Promise” standards.
- Partner closely with other church leaders to integrate student ministry into the broader church culture.
- Serve on the Lead Team, bringing student ministry perspective into church-wide leadership.
Key Qualifications
- Experience: 10–15+ years of student ministry leadership, with preference for large church (2,500+) and multisite experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; seminary or advanced theological training preferred.
- Theological Alignment: Aligned with Pinelake’s beliefs, values, and SBC affiliation.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead teams, develop systems, and scale ministry.
- Relational Equity: Must be able to build trust with staff, students, and families. Warm, approachable, and steady.
Leadership
The role reports to the Lead Pastor of Ministry (filing this role soon) Jeff Redding, Senior Associate Pastor. Jeff is a team builder, a champion of student ministry, and someone who will have your back. The broader team is led by Chip Henderson, whose vision, humility, and commitment to disciple-making have shaped Pinelake’s DNA. You’ll also be part of a larger “ministry planning team,” helping shape direction for the church as a whole—not just your area.
