Position Description

The Pastor of Children’s Ministries (PCM) will collaboratively develop and implement the vision, strategy, and tactical elements for all programs, activities, and educational aspects related to Children’s Ministries at Faith by:

  1. Creating inviting atmospheres in which children can meet and grow in their relationship with God and one another
  2. Leading the various leadership teams in growing their relationships with the Lord through service to children and their families
  3. Partnering with parents in the discipleship pathway of the children served by the ministries at Faith
  4. Effectively manage the paid and volunteer leadership for each of the Children’s ministry areas, including Sunday morning programming (Nursery-5th grade), Midweek programming, and special events

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to the Children’s Ministries (CM) Coordinators, Program Directors (including Kids of Character), and volunteers
  • Program Children’s Ministry programs that are consistent with the vision and values of the church while emphasizing core values know, grow, multiply, and service in safe environments
  • Provide ample opportunities for parents to be involved in the Children’s ministry programs
  • Provide pastoral care and shepherding for families with a specific focus to equip homes for discipleship
  • Partner with the Student Ministry to assist in the transition periods in the lives of children and their families.
  • Work in a team relationship with the Faith Lead Team to ensure that the children’s ministry aligns with the church’s overall vision and values while partnering with all ministries to assist in the transition periods for children and families.
  • Maintain a healthy relationship with the staff at Meridian Elementary.
  • Collaborate with the elders and staff to enrich the church’s children’s ministry and promote cooperative relationships among its many people in ministry.
