Orland Park Christian Reformed Church

Director of Worship

Orland Park,
Illinois
Orland Park CRC seeks a Director of Worship to partner with the Lead Pastor in shaping reverent, joyful, Christ-exalting worship. You will plan and lead services that are Biblically rooted and confessionally Reformed, recruit and disciple a growing team of volunteers, and cultivate a culture of humble excellence—where Scripture, song, and sacrament direct our attention to the glory of God. We value both historic and modern hymnody and praise, dialogical/gospel-shaped liturgy, and congregational participation. If you love the local church, delight in making much of Jesus, and can develop musicians spiritually and musically, we’d love to hear from you.

Why I Love This Opportunity

This is a rare chance to help lead worship in a church that truly believes the gospel changes everything — not just emotions on Sunday, but lives every day of the week. Their Lead Pastor is looking for someone who will draw the people in and lead them to God’s throne.  You’ll get to shepherd a team, work closely with a staff that values collaboration and depth, and help shape worship that is both faithful and lively.

Brian Nelson

Executive Consultant

A great match for this position would be:

  • Draws People Into Worship: Leads musically with competence and confidence while keeping people—not performance—at the center. Knows how to lead a room, even without a standout solo voice.
  • Blended Worship Leader: Loves blended worship and leads it naturally, without apology or explanation. Creates services that feel cohesive, reverent, and alive—drawing from both traditional and contemporary expressions.
  • Team Developer: Sees potential in people and patiently helps them grow. Builds depth on the team so ministry doesn’t depend on one person doing everything.
  • Self-Directed Leader: Takes ownership, solves problems, and moves the ministry forward without needing to be micromanaged. Welcomes input but doesn’t stall waiting for permission.
  • Relational Collaborator: Works well with pastors, staff, and committees. Communicates clearly, listens well, and contributes to a healthy, unified staff culture.

About This Organization

Orland Park Christian Reformed Church exists to proclaim and live out the gospel of Jesus Christ in every part of life. The church believes that because Christ has died and risen, worship is not merely an event but the way God’s people respond to His greatness in all of life — in praise, obedience, service, and community.

This congregation cherishes biblical worship. They gather weekly to worship through song and Scripture, challenge one another with God’s Word, and then scatter throughout the community to serve and love those around them. Through Sunday services, Bible studies, community outreach, and global partnerships, Orland Park CRC seeks to follow Jesus with joy, conviction, and a heart for all ages.

The church blends tradition with accessibility — welcoming voices raised in classic hymns alongside contemporary songs—as together they fix their eyes on Christ and His kingdom. It is a place where theological depth meets warm fellowship, and where believers are equipped to live out their faith with humility and passion.

It’s a place where families can put down roots, build lasting friendships, and actually enjoy day-to-day life. You don’t feel rushed here—you feel settled, connected, and home.”
