Mission, Vision, and Values
Northwest Gospel Church exists to glorify God (purpose) by equipping the church to be the Church (mission), to fill our region with gospel churches (vision).
Key Responsibilities
- Recruiting and developing volunteer musicians
- Shepherding and caring for our musicians
- Scheduling bands for all Sunday morning gatherings
- Overseeing the song catalog
- Managing all administrative aspects of the music team (i.e. Planning Center, chord charts)
- Leading a weekly, Sunday-specific rehearsal
- Leading regular team nights
Sunday Morning Gatherings:
- Leading music for Sunday morning gatherings
- Equipping and deploying others to lead music for Sunday morning gatherings
- Crafting set lists that serve the sermon and the season
- Partnering with the Executive Pastor of Ministries to evaluate and refine the weekly and annual rhythms of our gatherings
Oversee and Equip Eastside’s Musical Worship Leaders:
- Identifying and developing emerging musical worship leaders within the music team
- Providing regular coaching, feedback, and encouragement to musical worship leaders
- Creating and leading training environments (rehearsals, team nights, one-on-ones) aimed at developing leadership, not just musicianship
- Scheduling and equipping musical worship leaders to lead across Eastside’s Sunday gatherings
Foster Creativity in the Eastside Community:
- Contributing to the songwriting and recording output of NGC: Eastside
- Collaborating with and involving volunteers in creative projects
- Identifying and equipping the creatives in our congregation — musicians, artists, and others — to develop and use their gifts
- Encouraging and supporting creative work that isn’t tied to a Sunday gathering, recognizing that creativity itself is an act of worship
Metrics of Success
- Volunteer recruitment, engagement, retention, and development are growing
- Sunday morning gatherings are musically excellent and worshipful
- NGC DNA is understood and on display in every gathering
- The Musical Worship Leaders of Eastside are identified, equipped, and deployed
- Creative projects (i.e. songwriting and recording) are happening, done well, and involve volunteers
