NorthPark Community Church in Santa Clarita was founded in 1994 with the mission of preaching the gospel and meeting people where they are in their spiritual journey. The church has a rich history of serving the Santa Clarita community for over 20 years and is now uniquely positioned to look to the future.
NorthPark has experienced both ups and downs throughout the years, but they have persevered through it all. The COVID-19 pandemic presented a unique challenge for the church, but its staff and lay leaders adapted and found new ways to serve their congregation and community. The leaders at NorthPark remain committed to seeing NorthPark serve a new generation and are looking forward to seeing new vision and passion in their youth ministry.

Position Description

Develop disciples of Jesus by building a Youth Ministry that introduces students to Christ and disciples them in spiritual growth, training them to serve Christ in their life while recognizing and addressing the current culture and needs of today’s youth and anticipating the needs of youth as culture changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop healthy, nurturing, discipling relationships with all kids in the youth ministry.
  • Foster and build relationships/environments/programs/events/opportunities that are honest, non-judgmental, and biblically sound in which youth feel comfortable discussing and wrestling with issues impacting their lives and can learn to deal with those issues in biblically healthy ways leading to youth that are mature and sound in faith and practice.
  • Recruit and train leaders.
  • Partner with and equip parents in raising kids who love and follow Jesus.

What a Strong Candidate Would Look Like:

  • Has demonstrated a passion for, and ability to connect with, youth in a sincere and non-judgmental way.
  • Ability to prepare and teach messages to kids in group settings.
  • Interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written, with a diverse range of people, including the proper handling of emotional situations.
  • Ability to be flexible & teachable.
  • Social media savvy.
  • Trustworthy with confidential material.
  • Willingness to continue education & training in management, and areas of personal & professional growth.
