Mission, Vision, and Values
- North Oaks Church is seeking a Lead Pastor who will faithfully preach the Word, shepherd a close-knit congregation, partner well with the Session, and help a healthy but aging church move outward in gospel mission.
- This is an opportunity to serve a debt-free, biblically grounded congregation with deep loyalty, vibrant worship, growing children’s ministry, and a sincere desire to strengthen discipleship and community presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver expository, Christ-centered sermons from the whole counsel of God.
- Lead weekly Lord’s Day worship and administer baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
- Provide biblical counsel and visitation during crisis, illness, grief, and life milestones.
- Officiate weddings and funerals and teach membership and adult education classes.
- Disciple congregants and mentor current and future elders and deacons.
- Moderate Session and congregational meetings.
- Collaborate with elders to develop and implement a clear vision for growth in grace.
- Oversee staff and volunteers and ensure compliance with EPC policy.
- Equip members for personal evangelism, hospitality, and community engagement.
Key Qualifications
- Full alignment with the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms as adopted by the EPC, with only limited exceptions.
- Ideally five or more years of vocational church ministry.
- A graduate theological degree consistent with EPC ordination expectations is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in preaching, pastoral care, volunteer leadership, elder development, goal setting, outreach, and family-equipping discipleship.
- A credible Christian witness marked by integrity, humility, teachability, courage, compassion, relational warmth, and healthy accountability.
