Key Responsibilities
Spiritual Leadership
- Lead worship services that are biblically sound, spiritually vibrant, and culturally relevant.
- Serve as a visible spiritual leader and role model for the congregation and worship team.
- Participate in pastoral care, prayer, and ministry of the church.
- Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to align worship services with the church’s overall vision and teaching.
- Serve as a member of our elder team in accordance with our governance structure as a plurality of elders.
Worship & Service Planning
- Plan, organize, and lead weekly worship services and special services throughout the year.
- Select music and creative elements that support the sermon theme and church vision.
- Oversee the flow and structure of worship services to encouragemeaningful participation and spiritual engagement.
Team Development
- Recruit, train, and develop volunteer musicians, vocalists, and technical team members.
- Build a healthy team culture rooted in discipleship, excellence, encouragement, and leadership. We want you to develop leaders so we can grow our internal leadership pool, equip others, so you’re not bearing the load alon,e and send out disciplemakers to the Church.
- Schedule and coordinate worship and tech teams.
- Oversee our weekend experience teams.
Administration & Collaboration
- Manage worship ministry planning, scheduling, and communication.
- Work closely with church staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers.
- Maintain worship ministry equipment and resources.
Key Qualifications
Spiritual & Personal
- Growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a life that reflects biblical values.
- A calling to worship ministry and a heart for serving the local church.
- Agreement with the mission, vision, and beliefs of the Restoration Movement and North Liberty Christian Church.
Musical & Leadership
- Strong musical ability with experience leading worship (vocally and/or instrumentally).
- Ability to lead contemporary worship style.
- Experience building and leading volunteer teams.
- Strong communication, organizational, and relational skills.
Education & Experience
- Previous experience in worship leadership preferred.
- Formal education in music, ministry, or a related field is helpful but not required.
- Experience using Planning Center and Multitracks (or similar track ecosystem) preferred.
