Staff Culture

Key Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual leadership to the congregation through biblical preaching, teaching, discipleship, and pastoral care.
- Serve as the primary shepherd of the church by building meaningful relationships, caring for members and families, and being actively involved in the life of the congregation.
- Lead, develop, and support church staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers while fostering a healthy, collaborative, and mission-focused culture.
- Champion the church’s vision, values, and strategic priorities while guiding growth and change thoughtfully and with congregational unity in mind.
- Promote and participate in local and global missions, evangelism efforts, and community outreach initiatives that align with the church’s mission.
- Ensure leadership is characterized by integrity, transparency, accountability, and wise stewardship of church resources.
- Engage with members, guests, and the broader community in a visible and approachable manner, helping create a welcoming environment for individuals and families.
- Equip and encourage the congregation to grow as fully devoted followers of Christ through discipleship, service, and active ministry involvement.
Key Qualifications
- Demonstrates a clear and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, a strong personal prayer life, and a lifestyle consistent with biblical leadership qualifications.
- Aligns with Newsong Community Church’s theological convictions, including an orthodox view of Scripture, Arminian/Wesleyan theology, belief in the ongoing operation of spiritual gifts, complementarian leadership, and traditional biblical views on marriage and sexuality.
- Proven experience in pastoral ministry with a strong track record of shepherding, preaching, disciple-making, leadership development, and congregational care.
- Gifted communicator who can effectively preach and teach God’s Word with biblical accuracy, practical application, and relevance to everyday life.
- Demonstrates high emotional intelligence, humility, integrity, and accountability, with the ability to navigate conflict, lead through change, and build trust within the congregation.
- Relationally driven leader who enjoys connecting with people, investing in families, and being actively involved in the life of the church and community.
- Passionate about missions, evangelism, and developing future leaders while equipping the congregation for ministry and spiritual growth.
- Preferred candidates will have 5+ experience leading in a growing church environment and an appreciation for the culture, values, and relational nature of the South Louisiana community.
