I have enjoyed working with the team at New Covenant Bible Church. They have a rich history of loving and serving the community of Cedar Rapids. The staff genuinely care for each other and work together to help people pursue God, pursue others, and practice His ways. This new leader will have significant resources: designated space, dedicated volunteers, and students who are hungry for the Lord.
New Covenant Bible Church (NCBC) is defined by its mission: “We pursue God, pursue others, and practice His ways.” From its humble beginnings in the 1940s, God’s faithfulness has been evident throughout NCBC’s history. It started with a small group of Christians gathering in homes to study God’s Word and pray. In 1950, First Covenant Church was formally organized by 21 charter members. Over the years, the church experienced spiritual and numerical growth, leading to the purchase of an elementary school as its new home in 1981.
In 1987, the church officially became New Covenant Bible Church, and later in 2005, due to continued growth, the NCBC family purchased 55 acres of land and relocated. The new facility, designed to foster relationships, was completed in 2011. Under Pastor Jay Haugh’s leadership, NCBC has seen growth in attendance, new members, baptisms, and finances in recent years.
At NCBC, the worship and message are Bible-based and applicable to daily life. The staff is passionate about their role in the church’s greater mission. With over 900 attendees each Sunday, NCBC welcomes all to join in pursuing God and others and practicing His ways together.
New Covenant Bible Church is fully committed to helping people pursue God, pursue others, and practice His ways. NCBC is a non-denominational church with a rich history of being known as a great church for families. They are looking for a High School Pastor/Director who is relational, gospel-centered, and skilled in developing leaders. They value someone vulnerable, systems-minded, and can effectively organize and implement engaging programs for high school students.
