Mountain Park Church

NextGen Pastor

Stone Mountain,
Georgia
Mountain Park First Baptist Church is a 60-year-old church operating more like a church plant. COVID and some challenging years before the pandemic created a problematic situation for Mountain Park. Over the past five years, Keith and his team have restructured and reorganized Mountain Park into the church it is today – a healthy and vibrant congregation of just under 300. A dynamic and tight-knit team is in place to lead Mountain Park into a new season of growth and renewal. Unlike most churches of this size, Mountain Park has the facilities of a church 5-10 times its size, and it has leveraged those facilities to serve its community just about every day of the week. Their community knows Mountain Park well, and thousands of people visit their campus every week. The potential for growth and impact in this next season is significant! An innovative Next Generation Pastor has the opportunity to connect with hundreds of unchurched families who participate in activities at Mountain Park. A passionate leader will leverage the facilities, these partnerships, and other opportunities to grow a thriving family ministry.

Why We Love This Opportunity

The Next Generation Pastor opportunity at Mountain Park is truly remarkable. This is a 60-year-old church with a history of community impact that has gone through a “Post-COVID” reboot with an incredible strategy and opportunity to impact a new generation within its community!

Mountain Park is reaching a young and diverse community in unconventional ways, with a key part of this strategy directly connected to the Next Generation. An innovative and energized leader will help Mountain Park reach their community in new ways!

A great match for this position would be:

  • Self-starter: Has a continued pursuit of excellence without being told what to do.
  • Passionate: A hands-on leader who can get into the details with passion and motivation.
  • Developer: Believes that true success is developing others (staff and volunteers) and empowering them to carry the ministry.
  • Team Player: Has a collaborative approach, seeking to include others and build bridges.

About This Organization

Established in 1961, Mountain Park Church is a vibrant and loving community of believers committed to sharing the hope of Jesus Christ. The heart of our church is centered on building relationships that reflect Christ’s love and extending that love to the surrounding community. Situated in a richly diverse area, we are blessed to have a special connection with Mountain Park Elementary School, the most diverse elementary school in Georgia. This unique partnership provides opportunities to serve and impact families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Our church embraces an eclectic style of worship and remains faithful to the Scriptures, creating a welcoming environment where people from all walks of life can grow in their faith and relationship with Christ.

Our campus is a hub of ministry activity, meeting the community’s needs in both spiritual and practical ways. Each week, our wellness center serves over 300 people, offering resources and care for physical and emotional health. Our weekday preschool, recently named one of the best in Gwinnett, provides a nurturing foundation for young children and their families. Through partnerships like I-9 Sports and Artios Christian Academy, we offer enriching activities that support physical, creative, and academic growth for kids and teens. Additionally, Enduring Connections Counseling Center provides compassionate, Christ-centered support for individuals and families seeking emotional healing. Together, these ministries and partnerships reflect our mission to love and serve our neighbors while pointing them to the transformative hope found in Jesus. At Mountain Park Church, we are deeply committed to being a light in the community and reaching people for Christ.
