I’ll cut right to the chase– Canyon Hills gets the blue ribbon when it comes to taking care of their staff. The culture created at CHCC is in the top 10% of any of the churches I have ever served. I am thrilled to be partnering with them once again, this time for their Middle School Pastor role. Not only would you be stepping onto a stellar Student Ministry team, you’d join a ministry that has seen consistent growth for several years.
I am excited to see who God leads to this role, I live 30 minutes south and look forward to sharing a great cup of coffee with you!
Canyon Hills Community Church (CHCC) was planted in 1995 by Senior Pastor Steve Walker, his wife Tammi, and friends, with support from Overlake Christian Church. Initially meeting at Canyon Park Junior High, they soon moved to their current location in Bothell, WA. CHCC’s strong children’s and student ministries, combined with small groups for spiritual growth, help them reach the local community for Christ. With over 4,700 attendees each weekend and 200 life groups, the church aims to make disciples of Jesus through teaching and transformed lives.
CHCC emphasizes worship, both locally and globally, through services, a food bank, aid programs, and missions in over 25 countries. Their mission is “Make More and Better Disciples of Jesus Christ.” Despite their growth, the church maintains its core values with stable leadership and offers four Sunday services featuring expository Bible teaching, modern worship, and media integration. Their 83,000 square foot facility and $13 million budget reflect their dedication to God’s Word and mission.
The Middle School Pastor will oversee all aspects of ministry for students in grades 6 through 8. They will lead and manage 60 to 70 adult volunteers, including 50 Life Group Leaders, who work with approximately 175 students on Sunday mornings and 150-175 students on Wednesday evenings at Canyon Hills. As the primary teaching voice, this pastor will also focus on effective communication with the parents of these middle school students.
