I’m excited to work with MercyGate Church on this Executive Business Administrator position. MercyGate is a church that is growing and expanding throughout the Houston area. They love and value the presence and power of God. The opportunity for this Executive Pastor to lead staff put vision into action, and think strategically is immense in this current season. The best days are ahead at MercyGate Church.
MercyGate Church (originally Mont Belvieu Assembly of God) began in 1930 and was the first and only Assembly of God church in the Mont Belvieu area.
MercyGate has seen tremendous growth under the leadership of the current Pastor, Donald Gibson, after his appointment in 2008. Attendance increased from 275 to an average of under 500 people on a Sunday morning.
In 2012 Mont Belvieu Assembly of God became MercyGate Church and, a few years later, completed the construction of a new facility to accommodate the continued growth.
In July 2014, a new MercyGate Church campus was opened.
The church grew to about 750 attendance by the end of 2019. In 2020 the online audience increased greatly while in-person services declined during the pandemic. Attendance has been steadily increasing since the end of 2020 and is now back to an average of 730 per week.
Reporting to the Senior Pastor, the Executive Business Administrator provides leadership to relieve the Senior Pastor of administrative and supervisory involvement and allow him to focus on his calling. This position is responsible for the leadership and direction of the church business staff, leading all business functional areas in the accomplishment of the church’s mission including finances, regulatory compliance risk management, human resources, and MercyGate Learning Center oversight.
Responsible for managing the business affairs of the church in the areas of finance and budgeting, human resources, insurance, fund-raising, office management, information technology, facilities and equipment management, risk management, security, and food service.
