Magnolia Bible Church sits in Magnolia, Texas, about 40 miles northwest of downtown Houston and roughly 20 minutes from The Woodlands. Magnolia still has a historic downtown and a small-town feel, but it’s also one of the fastest-growing communities in Montgomery County, as families move into the region northwest of Houston. MBC exists “to lead people far from God into a full life in Christ.” The church is known locally as a place “Where the Bible Comes Alive,” and it welcomes people with the promise that “no matter your story, you belong here.” Under Lead Pastor Stephen Burrell, MBC holds three English services every Sunday morning and a Spanish-language service in the afternoon, and it streams its services online.
It also runs ministries for kids, students, young adults, and married couples, along with a preschool, Upward Sports, small groups, and missions. The church wants every generation to experience Jesus, so its worship needs to reach a diverse, multi-generational congregation. That makes this a rare opportunity for a Worship Pastor. You would build on an established, growing church in a community that is changing fast. You would recruit and develop a band and vocalists, take the church’s tech and recording work further, help its songwriters create original music, and shape a worship culture that lasts well beyond Sunday morning.
The Worship Pastor will lead Magnolia Bible Church in worship with humility, a servant’s heart, and a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Through his teaching, leadership, and example, he will help people understand worship and live it out beyond Sunday mornings. He will recruit, develop, and care for the worship band and vocalists, equipping them to lead with confidence and a heart for ministry. He will also oversee and support the Creative & Tech Director, working together to create services that help people focus on Christ and participate in worship, whether in person or online.
