Overseers: Pastors outside of the church who cover the leadership with counsel and correction, as needed.
Trustees & Elders: This board approves financial commitments for facilities and ensures a healthy spiritual climate.
Staff: Each staff member is expected to equip members of the ministry areas of which they provide leadership and oversight.
The leadership at Love of Christ Church views the role of the Kids Pastor as the primary shepherd and architect of children’s ministry, overseeing the spiritual formation, safety, and discipleship of kids from birth through fifth grade. This role carries responsibility for building healthy, scalable systems that support volunteers, partner with parents, and create consistent, Spirit-led environments where children can grow in their faith. As such, it is important for this leader to bring ministry experience, organizational strength, and a working familiarity with churches that value strong systems, clear pathways, and intentional discipleship.
The Kids Pastor should be a relational and strategic leader with a proven ability to build teams, establish structure, and lead ministry through growth and change. This leader will consistently ask and help answer essential questions: Are our kids being discipled in age-appropriate and meaningful ways? Are our environments safe, excellent, and welcoming for every family? Do we have clear systems for volunteer training, classroom leadership, and leader development? Are we creating pathways for children to take next steps in their faith while equipping parents as the primary spiritual leaders in the home?
Love of Christ Church has experienced significant growth and is entering a season of continued expansion, including facility renovations and increased ministry capacity. The Kids Pastor must be someone who takes time to understand the culture of the church and leads change with wisdom, clarity, and care. Love of Christ deeply values being a multicultural, multigenerational church and places a high priority on developing lay leaders. The ideal Kids Pastor will have the ability to see potential in volunteers, invest in their growth, and empower them to lead with confidence and joy. This role offers the opportunity to innovate, build, and lead within a healthy, mission-driven church, in a thriving community that is a wonderful place for families to belong and grow together.
