LifePoint Church

NextGen Pastor

Smyrna,
Tennessee
The Next Gen Pastor provides visionary, spiritual, and strategic leadership for all ministry environments from birth through young adulthood. This role ensures a cohesive discipleship pathway that equips the next generation to know, love, and follow Jesus for a lifetime. They will directly oversee the staff leading each ministry area—Pre-K, Kids, Middle School, High School, and Young Adults—and serve as the primary teacher and shepherd for the Young Adult Ministry.

Why I Love This Opportunity

I love this opportunity because LifePoint’s Next Generation Ministry is doing the kind of meaningful, mission-driven work that truly shapes families and forms lasting faith. This team has a clear commitment to partnering with parents—honoring them as the primary disciplers of their children—while coming alongside them with real support, intentional environments, and a Gospel-centered framework built around Gather, Grow, Give, and Go. It’s a ministry designed to help kids, students, and young adults encounter Jesus, build life-giving relationships, discover their God-given gifts, and live sent.

What excites me most is the culture of this team. They are fun, deeply relational, incredibly skilled, and fully invested in the mission of LifePoint Church. They sharpen one another, they produce at a high level, and they genuinely enjoy doing ministry together. This is the kind of environment where the right leader won’t just succeed—they’ll thrive.

For the next leader, this is a chance to step into a ministry with strong momentum and a church that believes deeply in discipling the next generation. Learning the culture, building chemistry with the team, and continuing to develop a ministry that is already impacting families in significant ways—those are the kinds of challenges that make this role both meaningful and exciting. And that’s why I love helping LifePoint find the right person to carry this vision forward.

Location

Smyrna, TN is a friendly, fast-growing suburban town that combines small-town warmth with easy access to Nashville. Life here feels family-oriented—schools, youth sports, church communities, and neighborhood events are a big part of the culture. Most neighborhoods are quiet, with well-kept homes, parks, and walking trails. Commuting into Nashville is common, but Smyrna itself has plenty of employers (including Nissan), so the town has a stable, middle-class feel. Restaurants, shopping centers, and local businesses are spread throughout the area, giving residents plenty of conveniences without driving far.

Recreation plays a big role: you’ll find greenways, the Smyrna Outdoor Adventure Center, and easy access to Percy Priest Lake for boating and fishing. The town is clean, safe, and generally calm—people wave, kids ride bikes, and high-school football games draw crowds. Cost of living is lower than Nashville but rising steadily with demand. Overall, Smyrna offers a comfortable, predictable suburban lifestyle with a community feel, making it especially appealing to families and those who want suburban living close to a major city.

“Tennessee experiences all four seasons – a warm summer where you can swim in rivers and lakes, a beautiful fall where you enjoy the changing of the leaves, a fun winter where you can play in the snow, and a sunny spring where you can hike and garden.”
