Mission, Vision, and Values
To help people become lifelong disciples of Jesus here in our community and around the world.
Liberty views every ministry, including Worship Arts, as a discipleship ministry. The goal is not simply to create meaningful Sunday experiences but to help people grow in their relationship with Jesus for a lifetime.
Liberty believes worship is the joyful response of God’s people to the greatness of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The aim is not to create a concert but to lead the church to glorify God together. Worship gatherings should proclaim the gospel, support the preaching of God’s Word, and encourage wholehearted congregational participation.
Several values shape that vision:
- Biblical Truth: Scripture and the gospel shape what the church sings and communicates.
- Christ-Centered Worship: Jesus remains the focus rather than personalities, platforms, or musical trends.
- Congregational Participation: The worship team leads the church in worship rather than performing for it.
- Spiritual Authenticity: Worship creates space for sincere response to God without manufacturing emotion.
- Excellence: Liberty wants to offer God its best while remembering that excellence serves worship rather than becoming the objective.
- Discipleship: Volunteers are people to shepherd and develop, not simply positions to fill.
- Joy: Worship should reflect the hope and goodness of the gospel.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Worship: Plan and lead engaging, Christ-centered weekly worship gatherings that encourage congregational participation and support Liberty’s preaching ministry.
- Partner with the Lead Pastor: Work closely with the Lead Pastor to develop cohesive services in which worship, Scripture, preaching, prayer, and response reinforce the biblical message.
- Shape Song Selection: Choose music that is biblically faithful, congregationally accessible, spiritually meaningful, and increasingly Godward.
- Shepherd the Team: Pastor, encourage, pray for, and spiritually develop musicians, vocalists, technicians, and other ministry volunteers.
- Recruit and Develop Leaders: Identify, recruit, train, and empower new volunteers while mentoring emerging worship and production leaders.
- Build Healthy Culture: Foster unity, preparation, servant leadership, spiritual maturity, excellence, and healthy relationships throughout the worship ministry.
- Oversee Worship Arts: Provide leadership for the worship band, vocal teams, audio/visual production, livestream, lighting, media and presentation systems, creative elements, and stage design as appropriate.
- Strengthen Production: Help elevate overall musical and technical quality, including vocals, arrangements, sound mix, and the Sunday worship environment.
- Lead Ministry Systems: Organize rehearsals, oversee volunteer scheduling through Planning Center, manage the worship budget, and maintain instruments and technical equipment.
- Lead Special Services: Coordinate worship for Christmas, Easter, Good Friday, worship nights, baptisms, and other church-wide gatherings.
