About This Organization

Kensington was built on a simple but audacious belief: that every person can know God personally, walk in genuine freedom, live with clear purpose, and leave a mark on the world around them. We haven’t arrived — but we’re on that journey together, and there’s room for you in it.

Location

Life in the communities of Birmingham, Berkley, and Royal Oak combines the convenience of suburban living with a strong sense of community. We enjoy walkable downtown districts filled with locally owned shops, restaurants, coffeehouses, and community events throughout the year. Birmingham is known for its beautiful neighborhoods and vibrant cultural scene, while Berkley offers a welcoming small-town atmosphere with family-friendly events and highly engaged neighbors. Royal Oak is recognized for its energetic downtown, diverse dining options, entertainment venues, and active nightlife, making it popular with both families and young professionals.

Just to the north and west, Southfield provides a different but complementary experience. As one of the region’s major business centers, Southfield is home to corporate offices, medical facilities, and educational institutions, while still offering parks, nature trails, and residential neighborhoods.

These communities all benefit from excellent access to the broader Detroit metropolitan area and a wide range of recreational opportunities. Residents often appreciate the balance of economic opportunity, cultural amenities, strong schools, and community involvement that make this area of southeastern Michigan an attractive place to live, work, and raise a family.

“A few things I love about living in this area… My neighbors! I get to share sidewalks with some of the kindest, curious, caring people in the world. I love the small-town, neighborly vibe while also having access to all the fun and exciting things Detroit offers. Our neighborhoods are filled with unique restaurants, cultural events, and people. Our campus community is diverse – ethnically, politically, socioeconomically, and generationally – it’s one of the things I love most about who we are.”
