Position Description

The Development & Fundraising Manager plays a pivotal role in leading donor development and fundraising efforts for the In-N-Out Burger and Slave 2 Nothing Foundations. Reporting to the Community Engagement Department Head, this position oversees the team responsible for managing donation activities and crafting both short- and long-term fundraising strategies that align with the foundations’ vision and mission.

Collaboration is at the heart of this role, requiring close partnerships across multiple functions within the organization. By fostering a deep understanding of donor behavior, both internally and externally, this role ensures the foundations’ goals are met. Strategic partnerships with both foundations will be key to driving success, increasing awareness of our causes, and securing critical funding to support our mission.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy aimed at expanding and diversifying the donor base. Focus on increasing support from individual donors (customers, community members, and major gifts) and institutional partners (vendors and corporate donors).
  • Identify new donor opportunities through thorough research and cultivate relationships by soliciting funding in innovative and creative ways.
  • Provide clear leadership, direction, and oversight to the fundraising team. Mentor and support team members in their professional growth, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Partner with INOBF and S2N Foundation Managers to establish immediate and long-term fundraising goals that align with the strategic vision of the organization.
  • Oversee the management of donor records with a focus on leveraging tools like Salesforce Marketing Cloud to design and execute effective fundraising campaigns.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships within the organization and externally with vendors, nonprofit organizations, foundations, and community partners, serving as a representative of the Foundations and Community Engagement Department.
  • Develop, implement, and manage company-wide giving opportunities that engage employees, corporate partners, and the broader community.
  • Represent In-N-Out Burger at fundraising events, speaking engagements, and in meetings with businesses, nonprofits, foundations, grant-makers, and community leaders, ensuring a professional and impactful presence.

 

What a Strong Candidate Would Look Like:

  • Seasoned experience in corporate fundraising and/or securing corporate sponsorships.
  • Effective at building and sustaining healthy partnerships with key community leaders
  • Proven success in planning and executing fundraising strategies at large-scale events and public fundraising initiatives, with a vision for growth
