Paul Loyless

Associate

If you spend any time at Home of Grace, you’ll soon hear the testimony that “This is the place where miracles happen.” And it’s no wonder. All the stakeholders believe that for addiction recovery to be successful, it must be Christ-centered. They have a program with an excellent track record of helping people reclaim their lives and make a difference in the Kingdom.
The team at Home of Grace is passionate about their work. The Executive Director has a bold vision for taking more ground and creating new pathways for more people to experience life change through the three-month recovery program.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced development professional to join a dynamic, creative, and committed team to truly impact the lives of people seeking freedom from the clutches of addiction.

About This Organization

Since 1965, the Home of Grace has served as a beacon of hope to men and women across the country suffering from addiction. For these 57+ years, our ministry has firmly stood on the fundamental principle that healing and recovery start with Jesus. We are unapologetically, uncompromisingly Christ-centered. We believe this is what makes us stand out from the rest.

Position Description

Home of Grace is a successful Christ-centered non-profit addiction recovery program seeking a dynamic team player for Director of Development, reporting to the Executive Director and working cross-functionally with the leadership team. The Director of Development will lead the fundraising and donor relations activities, explicitly raising funds to support affordable programs aimed at helping men and women find freedom from their addiction.

The Director of Development is a strategic relationship builder and a skilled fundraiser who exemplifies and models Christian behaviors and values while possessing high levels of ethics, honesty, and character.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive fundraising plan that engages all programs and activities of development, including but not limited to major donor relations, direct mail, marketing, events, monthly giving, grants, engaging stewardship best practices, donor-level moves, retention, and acquisition.
  • Recruit, train, and assimilate the Development team necessary to achieve the fundraising plan.
  • Engage the staff and Board of Directors in fundraising and campaigning activities.
  • Design and implement engagement strategies for each donor level to increase donor retention rate.
  • Prepare donor proposals, solicitation letters and emails, and other development materials needed to articulate the case for Christ-centered addiction recovery and ways the community can invest in the mission.

What a Strong Candidate Would Look Like:

  • Is mission-focused and value-aligned – We are looking for a leader whose heart breaks over those gripped by addiction – an agent of change who inspires others to invest in miraculous transformation and liberation through Christ-centered recovery.
  • Has an eye for new opportunities – This leader can see what others can’t, developing a creative, out-of-the-box approach to fundraising strategy and donor cultivation.
  • Loves people – Someone who listens more than speaks and develops a deepened trust among those who believe in our cause.
  • Leaves a mark – The Director of Development is a dynamic communicator who can clearly articulate the needs of the Home of Grace and influence action. What is communicated nonverbally is as impactful as what is communicated verbally.
  • Experienced – This individual is no stranger to development and has a minimum of 10 years of direct experience in nonprofit fundraising and development.
