About This Organization

The church started as one campus in Amarillo in 1956. After being landlocked and still growing, in 2006, the church relocated in Amarillo under the leadership of Tommy Politz (now Pastor Emeritus) and changed names to Hillside Christian Church. Hillside continued to experience rapid growth in that season, and made the decision to add campuses in different locations. Hillside now consists of 10 physical campuses in the Texas Panhandle and Eastern New Mexico.

The church is led by Senior Pastor Johnathan Mast, who stepped into the role a year and a half ago, after serving on staff for 23 years. The church continues to grow,  experience hundreds of baptisms every year, and is committed to helping people experience the Love of Christ.

Location

I love living in Amarillo because it offers a strong sense of community and a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. The wide-open spaces, beautiful sunsets, and slower pace of life make it a great place to raise a family and enjoy meaningful connections. Plus, there’s a unique blend of small-town charm and big-hearted people that make this place feel like home.
