Over the past 15 years Helping Haitian Angels has grown phenomenally. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative and caring team while continuing to drive toward further growth. This person will work closely with the founder to develop the ongoing strategic approach to fundraising, expanding the donor base and engagement, and developing the mission work in Haiti. Ideally, the next Executive Director will genuinely understand developing countries and be passionate about pursuing all the potential in Haiti.
In 2008, after years of Bill asking his wife to join him in his work in Haiti, she accompanied him to Cap-Haїtien. On the 2nd day, a woman invited them to visit a group of children living in an abandoned building. What Debbie experienced in that building forever changed her life.
Thirty-five children were being evicted from uninhabitable conditions. The team physician determined half the children wouldn’t survive six months. The team set to work immediately and found a suitable building, as well as food, bedding, clothes, clean water, a night watchman, and medical care. They quickly financed these necessities, ensuring their survival. This is proof God uses “ordinary” people for extraordinary miracles. The children are thriving today! Helping Haitian Angels is creating hope out of despair.
God has truly blessed their faithfulness, and the ministry has grown in leaps and bounds over the past five years. In Haiti, they have launched a vibrant, growing, and outreach-oriented church. The SALT, Papiyon, trauma therapy, etc., programs are adding value to the community. Stateside, the team has worked hard to keep up with the demands. Revenue nearly doubled, and events are now more consistent, building a broader reach.
The Executive Director role requires a self-driven, servant leader and highly competent executive to lead and influence our organization toward favorable growth and to design and direct strategies that support and deliver on our organizational mission and goals.
