This position does not automatically carry a “Pastor” designation, even if someone is ordained or has prior pastoral training. At GCC, we recognize pastors through prayer and discernment within the staff team. For example, some individuals who have joined our staff and were ordained elsewhere did not become pastors here or receive pastoral tax benefits. In some cases, people have been asked to spend a year in the GCC ordination process, which can include coursework, mentorship, and interviews. Of course, none of that is guaranteed—it’s simply part of our discernment process.
