Position Description

Grace Fellowship Church (GFC) is seeking a Groups Pastor to join their team during an exciting season of growth and momentum. This leader will oversee GFC’s Groups, Hospitality, and Assimilation ministries, helping people move from disconnection to meaningful connection within the life of the church.

The Groups Pastor will lead the implementation of GFC’s groups strategy—creating environments where people can connect relationally and grow spiritually. This role also includes oversight of GFC’s hospitality culture and assimilation pathway, ensuring every guest and member experiences a warm welcome and clear next steps toward belonging.

They are looking for a relational, spiritually mature leader who loves helping others grow in faith and community, thrives in a collaborative team environment, and has proven experience leading leaders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead GFC’s groups strategy, helping people move from disconnection to connection through systems and teams that foster engagement in the church’s life and mission.
  • Recruit, develop, and shepherd group leaders for both long-term and short-term groups.
  • Oversee GFC’s assimilation pathway, including the execution of Introducing Grace, helping newcomers take their next steps.
  • Supervise the Hospitality Coordinator and ensure GFC maintains an excellent standard of hospitality on Sundays and at events.
  • Provide pastoral care and guidance to individuals and families as needed.
  • Teach in mid-size or large group settings occasionally.
  • Conduct weddings, premarital counseling, and funerals as needed.
  • Participate actively in the Adult Ministry Team, supporting other ministries through prayer, collaboration, and communication.

COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with other ministry staff and volunteers.
  • Strong communication skills, both interpersonally and in public teaching environments.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of implementing effective ministry systems.
  • Skilled in recruiting, developing, and deploying small group leaders.
  • Experienced in supervision and leadership development.
  • A committed follower of Jesus Christ who demonstrates ongoing spiritual growth.
  • Fully affirms and aligns with GFC’s doctrinal statement, mission, vision, and values.
  • Bachelor’s degree (ministry-related field preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 5–10 years of effective ministry and leadership experience preferred.
