Position Description

This is a new role within Gloo’s Donor Team. The VP of Donor Development will focus on developing systems and people to cultivate relationships with major donors, securing donations to ministry partners, and managing a team of five to ten Gifts Officers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the senior development lead on Gloo’s donor team, overseeing the donor pipeline from start to finish.
  • Responsible for the execution and coaching of clients’ fundraising goals using the “Gloo Donor Difference” model.
  • Serve as a primary communicator for Gloo at major city and virtual donor events.
  • Assist, manage, and hold accountable the fundraising goals and initiatives of Gloo’s clients.
  • Responsible for recruiting and training a donor development team of 10 employees and contractors (potentially expanding the team over time).
  • Provide best practices and expertise that drive results for clients.
  • Manage the workflows and accountability of donor tracking in CRM platforms.
  • Manage weekly donor reporting/scorecard for fundraising performance.

What a Strong Candidate Would Look Like:

  • AN EXPERIENCED FUNDRAISER – track record of closing deals and holding accountable teams who can also get results. A minimum of 10 years experience in the area of Donor Development; major donor development preferred.
  • A STRATEGIC TEAM BUILDER – the next VP of Donor Development will be someone that sees relationships as an art form and can build the strategy, infrastructure, and team to support them. A minimum of 4 years experience in large nonprofit management.
  • EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT – a highly intuitive and wise discerner who is able to listen well while sensing how best to approach a situation and the people with which they interact.
  • AN EXCELLENT COMMUNICATOR – connects naturally and relationally with people through verbal and written communication: a strong vision caster and responsive cultivator of relationships.
