About This Organization

Global Water Center (GWC) was founded in 2020 by Molly and George Greene III, in partnership with Water Mission. Molly and George are also the founders of Water Mission, a Christian engineering nonprofit focused on designing and implementing safe water systems. Through his work with Water Mission, George recognized that ending the global water crisis would require more than direct project implementation.

GWC was established to address this gap, with a distinct mission and organizational focus centered on supporting the broader water sector rather than implementing projects directly. GWC has since grown into an independent organization dedicated to strengthening the capacity of organizations and governments working on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).

Over the past three years, GWC has experienced significant growth in both programs and recognition within the sector. Its work focuses on three core areas:

  • Online and in‑person courses that provide practical, applied resources for water sector professionals
  • Technical assistance to nonprofits and governments
  • Integrated capacity development programs that combine training and technical support at the systems level, particularly in partnership with governments

Through this work, GWC has become increasingly recognized for both technical excellence and its role as a collaborative, sector‑wide support organization.
