Gateway Community Church

Student Pastor

Wylie,

Texas

Why I Love This Opportunity

Brian Aaby

Senior Associate

I love the heart and passion the staff and congregation have for the people of Wylie. While technically a suburb of DFW, Wylie has its own character traits and feels like a “community.” The hope and desire for student ministry are to reflect the community feel of the church as well as to be connected, served, and impacted so that transformation takes place.

About This Organization

Gateway Community Church began as a mission of the First Baptist Church of Garland, TX. A handful of families responded to the call to begin Gateway under the leadership of founding pastor Dr. Blake Switzer and his wife, Shawn.

From its inception, Gateway has focused on connecting people to God and each other. The church is in a fast-growing community northeast of Dallas, and GCC has continued to grow with the community through the years. Gateway currently averages more than 700 each Sunday and experienced a record attendance of more than 1,000 people on Easter Sunday, 2022.

The church has a healthy staff culture and a congregation that continues to grow in diversity. They have preliminary plans for expansion as their three Sunday morning services continue to grow.
