About This Organization

Freedom Church is nearly 15 years old and has grown to nearly 3k people every weekend. Freedom started in the heart of Chatsworth to Love Jesus, Serve People, and Adopt the City. Starting in an Irish Pub (rent was cheap on Sundays!), the church grew, meeting in schools and then 7 years ago moved to a long-term rental. Freedom Church is a vibrant community with many salvations each year, a thriving recovery community, a very diverse and multi-generational community, and growing rapidly.

Freedom Church is about…

Jesus: Freedom Church is all about Jesus. We believe that there is a relationship available with God through Jesus. We believe the Bible was written by God and we can spend time with Him everyday through prayer and reading scripture. The Life Journal is a simple tool that helps keep us on the same page as a community. Have you ever looked at the Bible and said, “where do I start?” The Life Journal will help you with that.

People: Jesus is all about people. Every week we learn about how much God loves people, but its during the week that this comes to life. LifeGroups are groups that meet during the week in homes throughout the city. We eat together, pray together, and generally try to do life together. We a need hit our radar, whether its our friends, community, or neighborhood, Life Groups are the ones that mobilize quickly and help.

The City: Isn’t it interesting that every time a church is mentioned in the Bible it is always addressed by the name of the city. We believe God placed us here to make a city-wide difference, thats why the first weekend of every month we have an initiative called Laundry Love. Where Teams meet at different Laundromats throughout the city, to put quarters in people’s machines and pay for everyone’s laundry. It absolutely incredible. We don’t preach to people, or tell them about the church, or even wear Freedom t-shirts… we just love them, no strings attached!
