The Midweek Worship Minister of First Miami Presbyterian Church has an incredible opportunity to dream, design, and develop in partnership with the Senior Pastor and implement a midweek service. This opportunity is designed for a creative and musical leader who possesses a builder and visionary mindset!
Iterations of what the Midweek Service could be include:
– Midweek Prayer and Worship Service
– Midweek Modern-Liturgy Service infusing ancient and contemporary together
– Service in Spanish or Portuguese (representing two very large demographics in the area)
– Acoustic or Acoustic and Strings service with candles and communion
– Service geared toward college students (the University of Miami is close by)
First Miami is the oldest standing church in Miami. This beautiful historic brick and stained glass building is surrounded by skyscrapers and situated right on the bay in the heart of Brickell, the financial district of Miami. Numerous tourists walk by every day, and thousands of people live within walking distance of First Miami. Due to the heavy foot traffic, First Miami has found that simply by adding a new service, a new influx of people find First Miami and make it their church home. First Miami Presbyterian Church is a part of the PC(USA). This is a church where truly all are welcome. They are deeply committed to bringing the message of Jesus’ love and grace to the city of Miami and beyond.
The Midweek Worship Minister will have a “let’s try” attitude while working in tandem with Pastor Chris to dream up, explore and implement a Midweek Service at First Miami. This leader will be open to tweaking and adjusting as the church and leadership together assess how well a certain iteration of a midweek service is going. This leader will have a pioneer mindset and will be a builder, activator, and implementor. The Midweek Worship Minister will join a worship staff comprised of the Senior Pastor, Classical Worship Director, and the Contemporary Worship Director.
