Worship Pastor

The new Worship Pastor at FBC Midlothian will know how to work with volunteers in a multi-generational setting, be passionate about excellence, and be a leader both on and off the stage. As a strong vocalist, the new Worship Pastor will set the standard for other musicians. With teamwork and collaboration as a high priority, the staff at FBC Midlothian do not function in silos. Each person on the team contributes to the greater vision of the body. Working closely with the Senior Pastor, the new Worship Pastor will work with the Creative Team, helping dream, form, and implement vision. Key Responsibilities:

• Design worship services to encompass the broad spectrum of emotions experienced during times of celebration and times of deep intimacy with God.
• Provide consistent and effective leadership for rehearsals, mid-week and weekend services, and special events, scheduling all bands & vocals utilizing Planning Center.
• Oversee all musical direction for the church–bands, vocals, and technical arts.
• Develop the leadership structure to support all worship ministry aspects—facilitating appropriate auditions for potential vocalists & instrumentalists.
• Participate/Lead in creative team meetings concerning worship songs and elements to enhance worship, i.e., video, drama, Bible readings, etc.
• Implement set/stage/church design changes based on sermon series, topics, holidays, etc.
• Coordinate with the Creative Media Director, Technical Arts Director, and Communications Director for website, marketing, bulletins, advertising, social media, etc.

• A Christ-like mindset that has demonstrated itself in all facets of life because they have been made new but have not forgotten what it was like not to know Jesus
• Ability to give and receive constructive feedback regularly that helps make better work and grow staff interpersonallyAbility to learn new creative things
• Ability to manage large projects with lots of moving parts
• Teamwork – welcomes feedback, contributes to building morale and connection amongst teams of people, puts success of team above own interest
