First Alliance Church

Executive Pastor of Ministry Development

Lexington,

Kentucky

Why I Love This Opportunity

Chris Lagerlof

Senior Associate

First Alliance Church is a contagious church that wants to impact and influence Lexington, Kentucky, and beyond. From the moment you step onto the FAC campus, you experience a commitment to excellence, and you feel the care of a strong staff and lay leadership team. From the parking lot to the children’s, youth, and main auditorium, there is an obvious love for God and devotion to each other. It is a growing church that has learned how to love and lead people well!

The Executive Pastor of Ministry Development will be able to help shape and craft the strategy for how the church engages in its next season of ministry in a church that is growing its missional and ministry emphasis.

About This Organization

In 1949, First Alliance Church began a series of tent meetings in Lexington, Kentucky. This church continued to seek God through several faithful moves over the last seventy years. Through a couple of relocations, name changes, as well as church plants, the First Alliance Church (FAC) now sees close to 1000 people every weekend.

First Alliance is a part of the missionary movement known as the Christian and Missionary Alliance and is driven by its mission to love God, love others, and live fully engaged in Christ’s Great Commission, starting in Lexington, Kentucky. Their influence in the city through Church planting and involvement in mission work overseas is consistent with their strategy to move UP towards God in Worship, IN towards each other in discipleship, and OUT towards the world in mission.

In 2018, the church welcomed a new lead pastor in Paul Smith and the beginning of a new era of vision and strategy. “I stand on the shoulders of the pastors who served Frist Alliance before me,” says Paul, “but we know we must continue to change, stretch, and grow in order for our vision to become a reality. We see a church that loves our neighbors, reaches the nations, and raises up the next generation by courageously living out new, faith-filled expressions of our rich heritage.”

It’s on this faithful heritage that First Alliance moves forward.
